High Fiber Recipes For Weight Loss

Including high-fiber foods in your diet is beneficial for weight loss as they help keep you feeling fuller for longer, regulate digestion, and promote overall health. Here are some high-fiber Indian recipes that you can incorporate into your weight loss plan

Moong Dal Chilla
Moong Dal Chilla

Ingredients

  • 1 cup moong dal (split yellow lentils), soaked overnight
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Drain the soaked moong dal and blend it to a smooth batter using a little water.
  • Add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chili, cumin seeds, and salt to the batter. Mix well.
  • Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladleful of batter on it. Spread it in a circular motion to form a pancake.
  • Cook until the bottom turns golden brown, then flip and cook the other side.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with mint chutney.

Mixed Vegetable Curry
Mixed Vegetable Curry

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, beans, peas, cauliflower, etc.), chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions 

  • Heat oil in a pan and add onions. Sauté until golden brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
  • Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the chopped vegetables and coat them with the spice mixture.
  • Add a little water, cover the pan, and cook until the vegetables are tender.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with roti or brown rice.

Raw Papaya Salad

Ingredients 

  • 3 cups Raw papaya , grated long
  • 1/4 cup Roasted Peanuts (Moongphali) , coarsely crushed
  • 1/4 cup Anardana Powder (Pomegranate Seed Powder) , (optional)
  • Coriander (Dhania) Leaves , small bunch, freshly chopped
  • 1 Fresh Red chillies , sliced, seeds removed (optional), finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli , sliced, seeds removed, finely chopped

Dressing

  • 2 Lemons, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons Honey, (or to taste)
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions 

  • To begin making the Raw Green Papaya Salad Recipe, in a small bowl combined all the ingredients for the dressing and keep aside.
  • Peel the green skin off the raw papaya, then slice it in half. Use a spoon to scrape out the seeds. Using the largest grater or a food processor,grate the papaya into ribbon-like strips. Place it in a large bowl.
  • Stir in the remaining salad ingredients. Drizzle the dressing over the salad mixture and toss well to combine.
  • Adjust the sweetness, lemon and chillies to suit your taste and serve the Raw Green Papaya Salad immediately to retain its freshness and nutrition.
  • Make Ahead Tip: If you wish to make the Raw Green Papaya Salad Recipe ahead of time, combine all ingredients except the nuts and the dressing.
  • You can then leave it covered in the refrigerator several hours, or overnight. Add the dressing and peanuts at the last minute, then toss and serve.

Paneer Chickpea Salad Recipe
Paneer Chickpea Salad Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 2 tablespoon coconut
  • 1 cup chickpea
  • 3 medium green chillis
  • 1 pinch asafoetida
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 4 curry leaves
  • 2 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tsp sesame oil

Instructions 

  • Soak the chickpea overnight.
  • In the morning first, boil the chickpea. While boiling add some salt.
  • strain the water and keep the chickpeas aside.
  • Now in a kadhai add oil. heat on medium flame. Put the paneer. Fry till a little golden brown. Add asafoetida, green chilli and curry leaves.
  • After stirring well, add the coconuts. 
  • Finally, add the chickpea. stir well, mix everything together.
  • You can serve this dish, after refrigerating it. In the place of paneer, you can add soya chunk or tofu. Also, sliced black grapes go very well with it. Many people also add dried olives.

Remember to balance these high-fiber recipes with portion control and regular exercise to achieve your weight loss goals effectively.
